The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has received two buses donated by two Real Estate Development Companies, Prindex Properties Limited and Dozek Construction Limited to boost the enforcement drive of the Agency.
The presentation of the two buses, an 18 Seater Toyota Hiace Bus and a Toyota Coaster Bus which took place at the Agency’s Headquarters in Ikeja, GRA, is part of the donors’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to further enhance the monitoring and enforcement drive of officials of Lagos State Building Control Agency.
The General Manager of LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, while receiving the donated buses, appreciated the donors for deeming it fit to complement the efforts of the State Government in sanitising the built industry, stressing that the donated buses will go a long way in boosting the monitoring activities of the Agency.
Oki further reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring that buildings in the State are professionally built through strict adherence to Lagos State Building Codes and through LASBCA’s intensified identification, monitoring and supervision of ongoing constructions in the State.
He noted that in recent times, the Agency has intensified its efforts to ensure that the built industry in Lagos State is well regulated, saying that this has resulted in the reduction in the number of buildings that do not meet the required standards, and by extension, reduced the risk of building collapse in the State.
While applauding LASBCA’s efforts in curbing the menace of building collapse in Lagos State with its constant monitoring and supervision, the CEO of Dozek Construction Limited, Mr. Don Nzekwesi, one of the donors, stated that his company decided to donate the Toyota Coaster bus as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to help facilitate the Agency’s enforcement drive for a serene and comfortable environment where buildings are well constructed in the State.
He implored the agency to continue in the discharge of its duties by being proactive in its statutory responsibilities for a better Lagos that is free of building collapse.
